Does tummy or abdominal liposuction work?

Abdominal Liposuction

One of the most common of all cosmetic procedures is tummy or abdominal liposuction. This is a technique for re-contouring the abdominal region and waistline. The tendency to accumulate fat in the abdomen and waist may be inherited, and this fat is especially resistant to diet and exercise. Patients often express low self esteem and unhealthy self-consciousness tied to their excessive body fat. Abdominal liposuction can successfully trim excess fat in the abdomen for a flatter belly or a thinner waistline, thus achieving a more slender, balanced shape. For patients with significant skin damage and laxity, a lipoabdominoplasty or Abdominoplasty procedure will be more beneficial.

Most men and women, for that matter—who work out and take care of their bodies find the abdominal region one of the most difficult areas to “tame.” Even if the abdomen has well-defined muscles, they can be covered with fat. The solution is a specialized form of liposuction: “six-pack” abdominal liposuction, or abdominal etching. Abdominal etching can be performed separately or in conjunction with a traditional abdominal liposuction.
